The Environment as the third teacher
With a belief that a child’s environment is the third teacher, our indoor and outdoor spaces are grounded in a respect and awareness for both our local and global environments.
With an abundance of exploratory play and sensory experiences, including a playground, duck pen, play kitchen, painting stations and quiet reading areas, our outdoor learning facilities provide immersive encounters with nature, designed to enhance a child’s learning journey, grounding them in reconnection with the earth.
I’m a Gardener at The Garden ELC
At The Garden we encourage children to explore their natural world through sustainable playscapes, vegetable gardens, composting and the discovery of ecological systems. Our regular gardening classes are a part of a 360 inquiry process in which our students plant, nurture and harvest their own produce, that eventually makes its way into our nourishing farm to table menu.
I’m a Chef at The Garden ELC
Active, growing bodies require excellent nutrition and our farm to table, nourishing menus are created by our Chefs at Sprout Cafe with this in mind. Our teaching staff also facilitate junior cooking classes where children extend their environmental education, learning about what goes into their food, the process and the importance of nourishing their bodies while preparing wholesome snacks.
